Every inch of Colchester Shooting Centre is occupied by guns, accessories and shooting clothing - and there are hammer guns suspended from the rafters.  If you look carefully amongst the gun racks and displays, you will also find owner John with  Duke (now Jet) his Labrador.

John opened his gunshop on leaving the Army in 1994.  In the service he had been an Artillery Sergeant Major and spent much of his time in Colchester, as well as tours of duty in Cyprus, Libya, Germany and Northern Ireland.

The Colchester Shooting Centre is now the best stocked true gunshop in East Anglia.  John has long had an interest in firearms and represented the English Shooting Union in the Army Match as a rifle shot in 1986.  He has 20 years target rifle shooting experience, for 10 years he was Colchester Rifle Club Secretary and is a qualified Great Britain Target Shooting Federation Coach Educator (which ensures that people visiting the shop get sound advice).

The Colchester Shooting Centre is an official Anschutz, Beretta, Bettinsoli, Browning, Lanber, Ruger and Brno CZ dealer, with a good selection of their products.

John also stocks a range of rifle and shotgun ammunition, new and second-hand air rifles, tuning kits, C02 pistols, muzzle loading supplies, books, videos, country clothing, decoys, dog training aids, telescopic sights, spotting scopes, binoculars and knives.  You name it, he probably has it.

You are struck by the excellent selection of new and second-hand shotguns.  There is an unmatched selection of sporting rifles (John is a keen deer stalker).

The Colchester Shooting Centre is an Aladdin's Cave and well worth a visit, whatever your shooting interests.   John does not just stock those things which he can turn over quickly.  He aims to offer his customers a real service.

If you're ever visiting Colchester, make sure to pay the Shooting Centre a visit - I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
